The Challenges

The plant uses two Siemens-Westinghouse W501F combustion turbine generators (CTGs), Nooter/Eriksen heat recovery steam generators and a Siemens-Westinghouse steam turbine. We provided construction and procurement of bulk material, including 30,000 cubic yards of concrete, 3,800 tons of steel, 115,000 linear feet (Lft) of pipe and 1,100,000 Lft of wire and cable.

 

To accomplish plant turnover to operations, we employed a phased construction approach:

  • Plant power back feed (month 13)
  • First fire of a single CTG train (month 16)
  • Plant mechanical completion (month 20)
